Nulls Brawl: R-T, Willow, Mastery, and Skins (March Update 2023)

In the latest Brawl Talk Supercell announced the release of a new season called “Mystery at the Hub”, which introduces two new brawlers named R-T and Willow. These brawlers will be added to Nulls Brawl.

Additionally, Nulls Brawl has a new skinline called the Ayakashi clan and a license for the skins in the current update.

This article provides a detailed discussion of the March 2023 Brawl Talk. Nulls Brawl faced difficulties in 2022 with a shortage of new brawlers, which they want to avoid in 2023. Therefore, the Brawl Talk in February introduces RT and Willow, who will be joining the game in the coming weeks.

R-T

The newest addition to the Chromatic Brawlers family is R-T, a surveillance robot that helps to solve The Mystery at the Hub. R-T’s primary attack marks the target, causing subsequent attacks to deal more damage, but the mark is removed upon taking damage. R-T can mark multiple targets simultaneously, making it beneficial to hit enemies on different lanes.

R-T’s Super ability splits him into two parts, with his legs remaining in the location where the Super was activated and his upper body becoming controllable. His attack changes to a circular area and both halves attack simultaneously, allowing players to control two zones at once. R-T marks targets in both forms and players can trigger the Super again to return R-T to his original condition and heal himself.

R-T has two skins: Crimson R-T and Patrol R-T, which cost 29 gems. The Crimson R-T skin gives R-T a spooky appearance with tentacles and the ability to trigger his Super, while the Patrol R-T skin adds police sirens to make sure everyone at Starr Park follows the law. R-T keeps data on every Brawler and can provide secret Brawler intel if needed.

Willow

Meet Willow, the mythic Brawler and the second addition to the Nulls Brawl update the lineup. Willow is part of a new trio and has the unique ability to manipulate her opponents by using the things they love. Her primary attack is similar to Barley’s attack, where she throws her lantern at enemies, but with an added poison damage effect.

However, Willow’s Super ability is where things get really interesting. She throws one of her tadpoles into an enemy’s mind, gaining control over them for a limited time. The controlled Brawler is unable to use their Super or Gadgets but can use normal attacks. To break free from Willow’s mind control, players can wait for the effect to wear off, defeat Willow while she’s controlling someone, or attack the controlled Brawler. If the controlled Brawler’s health reaches a critical point, they can break free from Willow’s control. Additionally, when Willow controls a Brawler, she fully heals them, and the controlled Brawler becomes invincible.

As a mythic Brawler, Willow is the guardian of the Tunnel of Love in the swamp area next to Mortis’ Mortuary. Players must use Willow’s ability wisely because it can backfire.

Mastery

The latest update in Null Brawl introduces Mastery, which replaces the previous XP system. Each Brawler has its own Mastery track, where players can collect Coins, Power Points, Credits, unique cosmetics, and sometimes Chroma Credits by winning matches with that specific Brawler. The developers have rewarded 1750 coins per Brawler, as requested by players.

Progression in Mastery is straightforward, with players earning Mastery Points directly proportional to their Trophies or Power/Club League Rank. The higher the Tier or Rank, the more points earned. The Mastery system factors in the difficulty of games at higher Trophy counts, resulting in more points earned per victory. However, it’s not a fast process, taking approximately 48 hours to complete a single Brawler’s track.

Once a Mastery track is complete, players earn a new Title that they can use with any Brawler, which appears under their name on the Battle Start screen. Mastery can be earned in Power League, Club League, and Trophy matches but not in map maker, friendly matches, or challenges. Mastery is available as soon as the update is released, with a cap on how many Mastery Points a player can collect in a day, but it’s unlikely to be reached in a single session.

Nulls Brawl: New Skins and Map

In the March 2023 Brawl Talk for Brawl Stars, it was announced that Basket Brawl and Duels are now permanent game modes, sharing the same slot that changes daily between the two. The game also has new maps for every game mode.

At the beginning of each match, players can now see the new Battle Start Screen, which displays their skin, player profile picture, a pin, Fame, Mastery Level, and Title. These items can be customized, and players can choose to customize them per Brawler or show the same options every match. Some of these items also appear on the player’s Profile Page.

In terms of new skins, El Mayordomo Primo is available in the first tier of the Brawl Pass, while Bull gets an Alleycat Bull skin. Piper gets a Mariposa Piper skin with a high-tech “gunbrella,” and Detective Gray gets a color variation for his skin. Additionally, there is a new skin group called the Ayakashi Clan, which includes Kitsune Lola, Oni Otis, and Tengu Mike skins.

Other skins include Bell Nani, Carpet Rider Carl, Popstar Janet Skin, and Spirit Knight Frank. Tanuki Jessie and Summer Jessie are getting a remodel, as well as Bunny Penny and Dark Bunny Penny, which will match Penny’s current design.
